David Callahan is a senior vice president with HM Science, a specialized division within Hughes Marino’s corporate real estate practice. In his current role, David leverages his twenty-plus years of tenant advisory work with his passion for healthcare and assisting companies that are making advances in the fields of pharmaceuticals, therapeutics, diagnostics, and life science as a whole.

After receiving his Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California, David joined Wyeth-Ayerst Pharmaceuticals, where he marketed several well-known products such as Premarin, Prempro and Effexor. Not only did David learn about product life cycles, marketing, sales and distribution during his time at Wyeth, but he also gained valuable insight into the unique set of operating requirements this dynamic industry demands. From traditional office space to sophisticated laboratories and clean rooms, very few corporate leaders place as much of an emphasis on their facilities than those in life sciences. Devising and implementing a real estate strategy that matches a firm’s overall business objectives is always important. However, within this field, it’s essential. David and his team of subject matter experts specialize in site selection and negotiation, laboratory planning, financial analysis, project construction management, portfolio management and lease administration.

When he’s not representing corporate tenants, David enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He also likes to travel, ski and cycle (both mountain and road). David is based out of Hughes Marino’s Los Angeles office.
